Born and raised in New Jersey, Amanda Gusack studied film and
writing at Hampshire College. During the summers she worked
as a colorist for acclaimed independent animators Emily and
Faith Hubley. Soon after graduation, she moved to Los Angeles
with three completed screenplays in hand.
After writing several additional scripts in the horror, thriller, and
fantasy genres, Gusack wrote and directed a 35mm short,
entitled The Anniversary. The stylized fantasy screened at Dances
With Films, Stonybrook, and The Palm Springs International
Shorts Fest.
In summer of 2004, Gusack wrote the psychological horror
feature In Memorium to shoot entirely within her house. Following
its 2005 premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival, In
Memorium screened at the Waterfront Film Festival, the Sidewalk
Moving Picture Fest, and Shriekfest.
Gusack's latest project is a crime thriller for MGM produced by
Vincent Newman entitled The Betrayed.
She is repped by Endeavor.
